How to unpin someone on Snapchat and remove them from the top of your chat list
Redeem now - To unpin a conversation in your list of Snapchat chats, tap and hold the conversation and choose Chat Settings, then tap Unpin Conversation.
- If you're a Snapchat Plus subscriber, you can unpin your BFF by tapping and holding the person, then tapping Pinned as your #1 BFF.
- You can also unpin a BFF by choosing a different BFF.
Snapchat lets you pin friends in the chat list, which makes it easy to find a conversation and pick up where you left off. Situations change, though, and there might come a time when you no longer want to keep someone pinned. Thankfully, it's easy to unpin someone on Snapchat.
There are two ways to pin someone on Snapchat, and therefore, two ways to unpin them. You can pin any conversation to the top of the chat page, for example, and unpinning it means it'll no longer stick to the top of the list. Likewise, if you are a Snapchat Plus subscriber, you can pin one person at a time in your chat list by marking them your BFF (Best Friend Forever, of course). You can undo this as well.
How to unpin a conversation on Snapchat
1. In the Snapchat app, tap the Chat icon at the bottom of the page.
2. Find a pinned conversation you want to unpin. It should be at the top of the list and you'll see a red Pin icon to the right.
3. Tap and hold the conversation until you see the pop-up menu.
4. Tap Chat Settings.
5. Tap Unpin Conversation.
6. The conversation will be unpinned and drop down into the list based on the time of the last chat.
How to unpin your BFF on Snapchat
If you are a Snapchat Plus subscriber, you can pin one person to the top of the conversation list as your #1 BFF. It'll remain there until you unpin this BFF.
1. In the Snapchat app, tap the Chat icon at the bottom of the page.
2. Find your BFF. It should have a smiley face emoji at the lower left of the person's avatar.
3. Tap and hold the conversation until you see the pop-up menu.
4. Tap Pinned as your #1 BFF. The checkmark will disappear.
5. Tap Done.
Quick tip: Another way to unpin someone as your BFF is to tap and hold a different person and choose Pin as your #1 BFF. You can only pin one BFF at a time in Snapchat.
